| Video Discription | Don’t ever underestimate the importance of waking up for your Suhur meal or the pre-dawn meal. It’s a meal that is filled with blessings and we should never miss it. As the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: تَسَحَّرُوا فَإِنَّ فِي السَّحُورِ بَرَكَةً “Have Suhur, for there is blessing in Suhur.” In fact the Prophet ﷺ stressed Suhur so much that he said, we should still have Suhur even if it was only a sip of water. But of course he taught us that the best Suhur for the believers is dates. Another thing many of us might not be aware of, is that not only is it a Sunnah to eat the Suhur meal, but it’s also Sunnah to delay it closer to the time of the Fajr Athaan. In fact, it is reported that the Prophet ﷺ would finish his Suhoor very close to the Athaan of Fajr, approximately enough time to recite fifty ayat of the Quran.
