I was busy filming the Ema Market shopping tour video in Imphal, Manipur when this guy approached me asking me to film his sad story about being blind and needing money to purchase all the medications the doctor had prescribed him. He even had the prescription to show me the costs! As soon as someone starts asking you for money or bringing money into a conversation in India, you know it's a scam. Especially when they AREN'T blind and they have this fake prescription all prepared to show you. They target Westerners and our sympathy. It's called sympathy scamming when they start telling you a big sad story to gain your sympathy and scam money from you while you travel around India as a tourist. It's very common in India.
