Manasa is the mother of Astika, sister of Vasuki, king of Nagas (snakes) and wife of sage Jaratkaru (Jagatkaru). Goddess Manasa Devi is known to be extremely to her devotees and are harsh to people who refused to worship her or simply doesn’t trust her existence or her powers even after learning about her. She is also known as Vishahara (the destroyer of poison), Nitya (eternal) and Padmavati. The Devi Bhagavatam says that she is the mind-daughter of the Sage Kashyapa.
