| Video Discription | OLYMPIC PRIZE MONEY An exciting change is coming for track and field athletes who win big at the Olympics this year. Since the modern Olympics began in Athens 128 years ago, the Olympics games have been an amateur competition. Amateur meaning, unpaid. So athletes compete for love of the game, and national pride, not money. And while they can get money through sponsorships, or from their country if they win a medal, they don't get prize money. As of today, track and field has become the very first sport to offer prize money to Olympic gold medallists! World athletics said it was only fair that athletes got a share of the money generated by the games. So, winners will be receiving 50,000 dollars! This year it's only gold medallists, but in 2028 silver and bronze medal-winning track and field athletes will get cash prizes. And there's the chance that other sports might follow. But right now, there's mixed opinions. Some athletes are welcoming the cash prize. But for others, this kind of gold is payment enough. MATILDAS WIN The Matildas are heading heading towards the Olympics with another win under their belts. The Aussies beat Mexico 2-0 in a friendly match in Texas. It was their first game since securing a spot in the Paris Games, and they went into it missing eight players due to injury. Not that it mattered! Haley Russo scored in the first 10 minutes, and the Aussies held their lead into the second half when Caitlin Ford doubled it with this brilliant moment. MOLLY AND PEGGY UPDATE Now to Queensland, where there's been a new chapter added to the story of two animals who became unlikely friends. They're the canine and crow whose connection has captured the hearts of millions around the world. In case you're new to the story, this is Molly the magpie and his bestie, Peggy the Staffordshire terrier. Molly was rescued as a baby by a Gold Coast couple who turned him and Peggy into social media stars. But recently, things came to a squawking halt. You see, magpies are a protected species, which means you need have a special permit to care for one and even though Molly's carers said he was free to come and go as a pleased, Queensland environment officials said he had to be taken away for his own safety. What followed was a huge outcry on social media, and headlines around the world. And now, it looks like their friendship will continue! Molly's carer's will have to work with authorities to make sure she's properly cared for and they're no longer allowed to make a profit from her, but if things go to plan, this unusual family will soon be back together. HORSE AT TRAIN STATION First up, to a racehorse who's rocked up to the wrong kind of track! Yep, at Warwick Farm train station in Sydney, this four-legged commuter gave some folks a bit of a fright, just minutes before the midnight train pulled in. Police were soon called to catch the horse and bring it back to its stable. Which luckily was just around the corner. EIFFEL CLIMB Now to the Eiffel Tower in France, where Anouk here is attempting to break a world record! She managed to climb 110 metres in 18 minutes. It's the highest anyone's ever climbed up a rope and she looks pretty happy about it. ICELAND VOLCANO And finally, to an erupting volcano near the Icelandic town of Grindavik!
