Uses the sidereal zodiac, which aligns with the fixed constellations in the sky. This system considers the gradual precession of the Earth's axis, resulting in the adjustment of the zodiac by approximately 23 degrees. This alignment means that the signs in Vedic astrology are often one zodiac sign behind their Western counterparts. 2. Considers the influence of nine planets, which include the seven traditional planets plus two lunar nodes — Rahu (North Node) & Ketu (South Node), which are significant in predicting eclipses & are considered of critical importance. 3. Has a more predictive focus & is often used to forecast major life events, understand life cycles, & determine the right timing for various life activities. It heavily uses the Dasha system, a unique method of timing that predicts significant periods & life changes based on the moon’s position at birth. 4. Primarily uses the whole sign house system, where each house corresponds exactly to one sign of the zodiac, simplifying the calculation & interpretation of the chart. 5. Strongly incorporates remedies to mitigate problems predicted in the chart. These include wearing specific gemstones, performing rituals, & chanting mantras aimed at propitiating planets. Lets now know about Western Astrology Principles : 1. Utilizes the tropical zodiac, which is aligned with the Earth’s seasons & not with fixed star constellations. The tropical zodiac is fixed to the points where the sun crosses the equator, & thus the signs correspond to the seasons, starting with Aries at the spring equinox. 2. Mainly focuses on the sun, moon, & planets within our solar system, including outer planets such as Neptune, Uranus, & Pluto, which are not traditionally included in Vedic astrology. 3. More psychologically oriented, focusing on character & personality traits. It is often used for self-understanding, spiritual & personal growth, & as a tool for understanding human behavior & interpersonal relationships. 4. Employs various house systems, but the most common are Placidus & Koch systems, which involve dividing the sky based on time & space calculations, leading to houses that can vary in size. 5. While it may suggest certain activities or affirmations to better align with astrological predictions, it typically does not prescribe specific remedies similar to those found in Vedic practices.
